“PROMETHEUS PROJECT

Will Rogers said, “Everyone talks about the weather; but no one does anything about it”. In Will Roger’s day no one knew or cared to know anything about “Air Borne Particulates”. Today, the nation and the world know that “Particulates” are related to cell damage. The National Institute of Environmental Health in a study has claimed that particulates in form of dust and soot in the air contribute up to 200 early deaths each per day in each of America’s largest cities (1,000,000 people or more). This every day 9-11, must be revealed as “Silent Death”, and it is the product of an atmospheric phenomenon called “The Inversion Layer”.

An inversion layer is an atmospheric condition in which the air temperature rises with increasing altitude, holding surface the natural air convection down and thus preventing the natural dispersion of particulates and other air pollutants.

The Environmental Protection Agency has been attempting to tighten rules that limit emissions of particles. Critics in the business community are challenging those new rules all the way up to the Supreme Court, arguing that the regulations are too costly and the scientific community presently does not agree on an economical solution.

What if one can prove that the “Particulate” level can be lowered whereas the scientific reasoning can be satisfied that headway is being made in the world’s air pollution problem? Health and industrial expenses would be drastically cut in cities such as Los Angeles, Mexico City, Santiago de Chile, Athens, and Houston.

Any project of this importance is certainly worth considering. Our non-profit organization has identified and is currently promoting such a project. Daniel Redford PhD. a computer science and a physicist, with his organization GCM Corporation, have named this project, PROMETHEUS, after the Mythological hero.

PROMETHEUS, the Greek’s Mythology demigod, was the creator of the humankind. He shaped the first man in the image of the God by mixing earth and water into clay. Athena, the Goddess of Wisdom, passed on her knowledge and wisdom, and breathed life into the first man. Prometheus gave mankind the gift of Thought, Knowledge and Wisdom. He also gave to mankind the secret of many skills, including how to navigate, and how to tell the time.

Later, when Zeus removed the Gift of Fire from the world causing great suffering to humankind, PROMETHEUS stole the fire and gave it back to the world. Prometheus was guided up into the sky by Athena. He was able to steal fire from the Chariot of the Sun, and brought it down to earth on a fennel stalk. This is the origin of the Olympic Torch.

Furiously, Zeus chained Prometheus to a rock, where his liver was eaten each day by an eagle, but grew back each night. Prometheus was doomed to 30,000 years of agony.


As in the myth, the PROMETHEUS airborne platform “is chained” like our mythological hero. It is tight (anchored) to the ground, and takes the Gift of Live, the atmospheric WATER, back to the control of mankind.

Our organization believes that this project can save thousands of lives per day around the United States, and provide economic solutions to particulate, air pollutants and even Global Warming threats.

The air particulate related deaths and increased health care costs, combined with the lost of productivity due to air pollution exposure, dictate the urgency of finding economical solutions to address these compelling problems of our civilization.

PROMETHEUS project was designed to implement environmental friendly technologies complementing existing EPA particulate emission regulations for poorly ventilated geographic basins.

In this context PROMETHEUS will:

• Trigger and enhance the ventilation of the geographic area by enlarging basins’ “Natural Ventilation Windows”.
• Use the basin’s atmospheric inversion layer as a “Giant Pollutants Collector” to trigger the removal and fixation of particulate matter present in the air.
• Prevent photochemical reaction and smog formations of the air pollutants accumulated and concentrated below the area’s atmospheric inversion layer.
• Contribute to the removal, elimination, and fixation of carbon dioxide generated in the geographical basin under the inversion layer.

The actual mechanical description of Prometheus looks like a giant elevator anchored on the earth’s atmosphere. The upper part of this elevator is supported in the atmosphere by an airborne platform. A helium or hydrogen filled specially shaped balloon holds the Prometheus’s platform at altitudes above 22000 feet. The platform is anchored by three super light cables.

Like any elevator’s cabins, 300 feet cylindrical structures - the airborne solar energy heat pumps - are moving up and down on the platform’s anchors.

Operating on the same principle as a Thunderstorm’s cell, these heat pumps extract the solar energy accumulated in the atmospheric water vapor, to heat up the air below an inversion layer. This will thermally destabilized the inversion layer and will trigger vertical air circulation.

Like a Thunderstorm, the Prometheus cleans, arrests, and precipitates the air pollutants and carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. The only difference is that the Prometheus does it in a controllable manner.

Unlike Will Roger’s time, today someone is doing something about the weather. Our organization needs your help to start doing something about the “inversion layer” and the “greenhouse effect”. Early versions full scale prototypes of the PROMETHEUS were built and proven to operate effectively.
